The Arrows played an away fixture to the strong Whetstone Wanderers Pumas. Another week without the luxury of subs, we started with an attacking 2-2-2- formation to try and secure an early lead.
Passing was strong in the midfield; Jack Skinner (1) opened his scoring account from a well-timed and accurate George Wainright assist.
We continued to pile on the pressure; it was only a matter of time before Jack Skinner (2) converted a long Dylan Berger throw-in into another goal.
The Pumas retaliated shortly before half time, and clawed back a goal.
The second half was a carbon copy of the first half performance; some lovely passing and defending around the midfield, and some well-placed Yash Patel corners. Jack Skinner (3) was eager to finish the game on a hatrick, and has hard work paid off with another sensational strike which powered through the goal-keepers legs. In the dying minutes, the Pumas first attempt on goal was scrabbled away, but the rebound was just too much for Brayden Fifer to keep out.
At the final whistle, the score was 3-2 to the Arrows!
Man of the match this week goes to Jack Skinner for his overall team performance, passing, energy, and not forgetting his hatrick.
Bring on the WFL cup next week!
