The Arrows played the Colney Heath Magpies for the second time this season. The Magpies lost by a goal (3-2) the last time we played, so threw everything at us to secure a win today.
Our boys started strong working the ball through the midfield, finishing with a Jack Skinner (1) belter created by a well-timed pass by Yash Patel.
Taking nothing for granted and knowing how the Magpies play, we upped our tempo, and within the dying minute of the first half, George Wainwright (1) tucked the ball in the bottom right of the net.
The second half started and our confidence grew, maybe a little too much. Our defenders pushed way forward of the half way line, and the Magpies capitalized by some great tackling and passing, which ended up in a cracking goal.
Possession remained pretty much 50/50 for the remainder of the second half but the desire to score by both teams remained. In the last two minutes of the game, and with our defenders well beyond their set positions, the Magpies persistence paid off and they deservedly scored again to end the game with a 2-2 draw.
Man of the match this week goes to our goalkeeper Brayden Fifer who made numerous saves and kept the score line at a respectable draw.
