Our undefeated reign came to an end with a 2-0 away loss on a day marred by the poorest refereeing seen this season, and on a field which barely resembled a pitch. Both points are not excuses, purely fact. By no means were we out-classed or out-played, our opponents goalie made some great saves, and our desire to ‘just get stuck in’ wasn’t felt by all.
On a positive note, George Wainwright worked his socks off in midfield and came close on two occasions to scoring. Well-rehearsed corners were delivered by Yash Patel, and solid defending again by Dylan Berger and Tom Haworth (and Goalie Brayden Fifer) kept the score line at a minimum.
Baring in mind we had no subs, and no strikers this week…a loss isn’t terrible, and will only make the team more determined to win next week’s match.
